Levofloxacin has the characteristics of broad-spectrum and strong antibacterial effect. It has strong antibacterial activity against most Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, such as Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Salmonella typhimurium, Shigella, Influenza, some Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and has good antibacterial effect against some staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, chlamydia, etc.

This product is a semi hydrate of (-) - (S) -3-methyl-9-fluoro-2,3-dihydro-10- (4-methyl-1-piperazinyl) -7-oxo-7H-pyridino [1,2,3-de] -1,4-benzoxazine-6-carboxylic acid. Calculated as anhydrous and solvent-free, the content of levofloxacin (calculated as C18H23FN3O4) should be 98.5% -102.0%.

This product is a white to light yellow crystalline powder, odorless.
This product is slightly soluble in water, extremely soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether, easily soluble in glacial acetic acid, and slightly soluble in 0.1mol/L hcl solution.
